The Institute of Chemical Biology (ICB) of the National Research Foundation aims to develop a modern, interdisciplinary research approach in the fields of health, medicine and biotechnology. The main activities of ICB include: 1) Development of new bioactive compounds against selected therapeutic objectives and their preclinical control with the aim of their possible utilization in the prevention and treatment of diseases 2) Utilization of modern holistic approaches of chemical and biological analysis in research and diagnosis in the early stages. . The main infrastructures of ICB: NMR 300 and 600 MHz Spectrometers, UHPLC-LTQ Orbitrap Velos Mass Spectrometers, HPLC-LCQ Fleet (Thermo Scientific), DNA Sequencing Device (pyrosequencer), Next Generation Sequencer (IonTorrent). NHRF and ICB have experience in submitting and managing a large number of competing European and Greek research projects either as a coordinator or as a participating body.
