EEPMS from 1979 until today, with its continuous action in the field of Metabolic Bone Diseases and with special emphasis on osteoporosis, consolidated its presence in the medical scientific community, both in Greece, being a Reference Center of the Ministry of Health for its Diseases Musculoskeletal System as well as abroad. The large number of research studies – clinical, multicenter, experimental – and doctoral dissertations have highlighted the importance of Metabolic Bone Diseases in the quality of life and the improvement of human life expectancy. In parallel with its research work, the Laboratory engages in didactic work with the organization of the undergraduate Elective Course “Metabolic Bone Diseases”, of the same name lasting two years.
